First Aired July 22, 2023
A member of the legal team representing the Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA) tells Community Matters he does not believe the Committee for Marshall – Not the Megasite will win its lawsuit.
Attorney Richard Lindsey believes a written opinion in the case released July 17, 2023 by Judge William Marietti – which shot down an attempt at a preliminary injunction to temporarily stop work at the Marshall Megasite – can be interpreted as a preview of the likely outcome of a hearing set for August 9, 2023.
In this episode, Lindsey also discusses the legal steps being followed in the case, as well as insight into the City of Marshall charter which prohibits referenda on ordinances when appropriations are involved. He also discusses the general intent behind non-disclosure agreements.
