(Community Matters 123) Volunteers Help the World Go Round at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center

NOTE: A hiring freeze implemented by the Trump Administration includes volunteers at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. However, this is viewed as temporary and the center is still accepting applications from prospective volunteers.

Hundreds of people have committed to volunteering in various capacities at the Battle Creek Veterans Administration Medical Center. In fact, as we learn from the VA's Joe Devyak, those who visit the medical center might not even realize some of the folks they interact with there are not employees.

Devyak also discusses National Salute to Veteran Patients Week, a yearly event that takes place around Valentine's Day which puts smiles on many of the folks who visit the VA for medical treatment.
