(Community Matters 72) Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Integral in Securing Vehicle Shell Donation for Dive Group

Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Erard leads the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. His coordination with Ford Motor Company Chicago Assembly and Vicksburg’s Summit Polymers has proven integral to the local dive team – as well as the Southeast Michigan Dive Team.

As Calhoun County Sheriff Steve Hinkley explains in this episode, the SMDT is growing – now including the Calhoun County contingent – and is benefitting from enhanced and realistic training thanks to the donation of a brand new vehicle shell.

The ”Body in White” as it’s called is the shell of a Ford Police Interceptor vehicle, donated to the team, which can be submerged to provide real-world dive training scenarios for first responders.
