On the job since late 2023, Ford Motor Company BlueOval Battery Park Michigan CEO Scott Davis sat down with Community Matters for his first-ever local media interview. He outlined a wave of giving to various attractions in Calhoun County.
Davis also discussed the progress of construction on the plant going up along Michigan Avenue in Marshall Township, expected to eventually employ about 1700 workers making LFP batteries for electric vehicles.
On May 7, 2024, Ford announced a $200,000 gift to three attractions: The Brooks Memorial Fountain in Marshall, which received $140,000 to put toward renovations; Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, which received $30,000; and another $30,000 was donated to the historic Bohm Theatre in Albion.
Ford also donated $25,000 to the city of Marshall in April 2024 to help fund the planting of trees.
As we hear in this episode, the organizations chosen to receive the contributions came from a survey of local residents undertaken by Ford.
