(Creating Dementia Solutions 32) Building a Home Care Team

When caring for a person with dementia, there will come a time when the task will become more than one caregiver can handle.

Let’s step back a moment and consider that, very often, a caregiver is a spouse or relative of the person living with dementia. That person – perhaps with some assistance from other friends or family members – will assume the brunt of the caregiving responsibility.

Until they can’t.

In this episode, registered nurse and nurse educator Suzanne Azuela from HomeCare Transitions joins Richard for a discussion of perspectives from professional caregivers in the home, how they view the responsibility and views a caregiver can use.
